The Rune Pentacle Athame blade is made from high quality stainless steel with full length blade through hilt with a pentacle and rune symbols around the circumference. Has a 4" sharpened blade with no sheath and a wood pattern charcoal handle.
The athame represents the magical element of fire, associated with the Sun and the Horned God. The athame in magickal practice is used like a wand to focus and project the energies of the witch. When the athame is combined with the chalice they represent the union of God and Goddess, male and female, sun and moon, fire and water.
The runes are an ancient alphabet that originated in Germanic and Scandinavian countries. Today, they are used in magick and divination. It is said that Odin created the Runes as a gift to mankind. Over the centuries, they evolved into a collection of sixteen letters, each with a metaphorical and divinatory meaning. The first six letters of this Alphabet spell out the word "Futhark," from which this alphabet derives its name.
The pentacle is perhaps one of the most recognizable symbols that Wiccans and Pagans use. The base symbol is the five-pointed star, which can be drawn non-stop without lifting pen from paper. Enclosing the pentacle is often a circle. For many Wiccans and Pagans the pentacle is a symbol that represents magic and magical workings as a whole. For others it’s used as a talisman, a connection to the divine, to open and close circles and a myriad of other ritual uses.
